Radio play, “Vivienne” out this Friday, sheet music and more!
03 November 2025
Comity is getting airplay!
In recent weeks, at least two stations have aired tunes from Comity. KCSM-FM, the College of San Mateo's station in the Bay area, aired Spunky just days after the CD arrived. And WKCR, at Columbia University, added Comity to their playlist. So, we're already coast-to-coast and looking forward to more opportunities for Comity to bring goodness to the world.
“Vivienne” will be released on all streaming platforms this Friday, November 7! It’s a ballad that reflects the enduring love between mother and son, brought to life by the incredible studio band featuring Loren Stillman (saxophone), Sara Caswell (violin), Alex Brown (piano), Jesse Lewis (guitar), Ike Sturm (bass) and Jared Schonig (drums).
If you want to get a head start on listening to Comity, head to BandCamp. Comity is now available for purchase on BandCamp before its official release on streaming platforms.
Like what you’re hearing? Sheet music for “Vivienne” and all of the Comity tracks are available under the “shop” tab at chrisnemethmusic.com!

Intimo release, looking ahead
20 October 2025
Ten days ago, we released “Intimo (vocal)” on Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp.
Fingers so soft on your body
As the waves caress the shore
Your quiet sighs like warm breezes
So intimate are my love and I.
"Intimo" is a bossa nova that transports you into the intimate embrace of another. The low rhythmic melody and the passionate warmth of the lyrics creates an idyllic moment.
Give it a listen and let me know what you think. Thank you to all the musicians and recording engineers for your artistry and dedication. A special thank you to our wonderful vocalist on “Intimo,” Pauline Jean.
In the booth at Vanguard Studio
Looking ahead, we’re excited to release the next single, “Vivienne.” Tender and reflective, “Vivienne” evokes the timeless love between mother and son. When I thought of the melody for this piece I could see me dancing with, and looking into the eyes of, my adoptive mother Vivienne. It was a fantasy, though, because we had lost her when I was a young boy. But even now, when I play it, I can capture that moment.
Look for “Vivienne” on Friday, November 7.

New release, recording at Van Gelder Studio
27 September 2025
Welcome to the first of our occasional and (hopefully!) enjoyable updates on this musical journey.
We’ve launched our chrisnemethmusic.com website and created our BandCamp page this month. And yesterday marked the launch of our first single, Nemology, from the album Comity, to streaming services worldwide.
Nemology was actually inspired by Wayne Shorter’s Speak No Evil. I’ve recently expanded the head chart into a big band arrangement.
Recorded at the historic Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, Comity was a year in the making from composition to the recording session.
Rudy Van Gelder was unique in his sense of how to record and master live music. He designed and created the studio you can see in my photos on our web site.
The greats recorded there over the decades, with a deep appreciation of the room’s warm and lush acoustics. That studio, along with Maureen Sickler’s brilliant recording engineering and seven first rate musicians created the sound you hear on all of the album’s tracks. As I sat in the control booth, I couldn’t resist taking a photo of Rudy’s portrait hanging on the wall behind me. Thanks to Rudy, the Comity musicians, and to you, for making this possible.
