A native of the Chicago area, Chris Nemeth’s career includes positions in industry leading research and development teams, 30 years of service as a Navy officer, and nearly 3 decades as an adjunct and full-time member of university faculties.
Years in parish choirs led him to take up bass in his 40’s, then add contrabass, and later begin to compose and arrange original works. He has studied with bassist Jim Cox, composer and drummer David Jennings, composer and bassist Ike Sturm, and faculty members at TriTone jazz workshop.In 2008, he founded the ensemble Second City Jazz and continues to perform as its bassist, and also holds down bass in the neo-soul band Almost Wednesday.
Comity is his debut album.
